Upcoming development along Jalan Genting Kelang

Attended meeting at DBKL with respected stakeholders about upcoming development project along Jalan Genting Kelang.

Under KL Draft Plan 2040, not just Wangsa Maju but many areas in Kuala Lumpur will undergo redevelopment.

I am aware of huge plans by DBKL to improve traffic conditions to accomodate future demands. MRT, road widening, public transportations are part of the plans to coexist with rapid high rise developments.

Many may not welcome this, but we will soon to have between 4 to 6 LRT/MRT stations in coming 10 years in the area. And not long after this, Jalan Pahang will have a dedicated bus lane that guarantees frequent bus schedule (not more than 5 minutes each bus) .

That means, Wangsa Maju is in utmost priority to create livable and business friendly, condusive environment. More residentials, more commerce, more social-economic engagements.

As a friend reminded me yesterday, Kuala Lumpur is designated to be integrated, inclusive, and low-carbon built community by 2040. Let’s make it so.
